Kalıpzeka
Defect and wear detection in plastic injection moulds using computer vision.
Kalıpzeka is an AI system that automatically detects scratches, flash and wear on the mould surface in plastic injection production from camera images. Because a defect is noticed before a part is made, the scrap rate falls and mould maintenance becomes planned.
In the field
It is installed in nine supplier plants in Bursa and Gebze. The camera and lighting unit is added next to the existing press; integration takes two days. Customers report an average 31% fall in scrap rate.
At Çimlen
The team joined the Filiz programme in the Spring 2024 cohort, developed with mentors a new camera design that cut hardware cost by 40% and ran its first large pilot with an automotive supplier group, one of our corporate partners.
Next step
The software is being extended with a predictive maintenance module for mould life forecasting and maintenance planning; the first export talks are under way with manufacturers in Eastern Europe. As a Çimlen alumnus it keeps access to community events and the mentor network.
